Aretaeus was a celebrated Greek physician who probably lived in Cappadocia in the second half of the second century AD, part of the Roman Empire. His eight treatises on diseases are among the most important Greco-Roman medical works. He wrote the first known descriptions of celiac disease and diabetes, and refined definitions of many other diseases. Colorized.
