An old black and white painted railway station destination board on the side of the platform showing which station you are at.

An old white and black painted sign stood on the end of the train station platform showing which station you have arrived at (Hanwell and Elthorne station) on the main line from Exeter to London Paddington on Great Western lines. The sign is almost certainly the one originally erected many years ago and the station is a "preserved" building, situated on the relief line side of four tracks, it is unusual as it has three platforms with no access fro trains from Paddington but due to track alignment this has also been reduced to only the relief lines access now. Line speed thorough the station is 85 mph with only the Heathrow "Connex" services stopping regularly here.
