Head light chestnut-red, blackish in front; body densely hairy and comi)letely concealed when at rest by the hair, which is of even length; the hair overhanging head and on sides black mixed with white ; the verticils on 1st and 2nd somites white ; the dorsal hair bright yellow; a series of nine double dorsal medial tufts ; the 1st pair slightly longer and directed forwards, the last pair backwards ; a broad irregular brown, some- what scalloped, white subdorsal line; the infra-spiracular line narrow, wavy, and snow-white.
