It captures the outer trench work of Poste Delà Belle Epine, Fort de Vacherauville on Hill in the center, and the village of Vacherauville beyond. This view provides a comprehensive look at the fortifications of Verdun that held strong against German attacks for 4 years. The image was recorded in December 1918 by Mo. En. G. SOTER.
