, Chitcani, Transnistria, Moldova - View of the village from the 68m high bell tower of the Ascension monastery Neu-Niamtz, in the picture a village church, which does not belong to the monastery. Transnistria is a repulsive Moldovan republic under Russian influence east of the river Dnister. The region split in 1990 from Moldova and is and is not recognized by any other country. Even the Russia-dependent structures are known as the Transdnestrovian Moldavian Republic (Pridnestrovkaja Moldavskaja Respublika / PMR).
