Detroit, Michigan - Members of Women in Black, an anti-war group, march silently along the Detroit Riverwalk. With the help of the American Civil Liberties Union, the group won a free speech fight against the Detroit Riverfront Conservancy, a nonprofit public-private partnership which manages the Riverwalk. The Conservancy had blocked an earlier peace march, claiming that the Riverwalk was private property where protests were not allowed.
