Onand on they tramped along the road, but the UnluckyDays clung on to the man behind, and said : Whydost thou not take us with thee ? we will never leavethee, for thou art ours 1 So they went on with him. till they came to a river, and the man, who was thirsty,went down to the waters edge for a drink. He un-did his water-skin, persuaded the Unlucky Days toget into it, tied it fast again and buried it on thebank close by the river. Then he and his familywent on further. They went on and on till theycame to another village, and at the very end of it
