1934 cigarette card with portrait of cricket player of Harold Larwood of Nottinghamshire and England

Cigarette card with illustrated portrait of Harold Larwood of Nottinghamshire and England that form part of an old set from John Player and Sons, Nottingham, part of Imperial Tobacco. The set is entitled: Cricketers 1934. These sets of cards were given away singly in packets of cigarettes and were (and are still) popular collector's items. Many of these players played in the England versus Australia Ashes series of the nineteen thirties, including the infamous Bodyline series in Australia of 1932-3 where fast bowler Larwood led the English attack - a vintage 1930s item for editorial use only.
