Progress 40 supply vehicle departing the International Space Station (ISS) on 23 January 2011. This unmanned spacecraft had arrived several months earlier on 30 October 2010, carrying supplies. After being unloaded, it was filled with waste and discarded items, and here it has been undocked to make room for the next supply vehicle. Undocking took place at 00:40 UTC. The next day, at 05:16 UTC the spacecraft deorbited and burnt up in the Earth's atmosphere, with the debris falling into the Pacific Ocean. Photographed from the ISS by a member of the Expedition 26 crew.
