BUFONES: In times of stormy weather, when a wave violently penetrates the hole created in the rock by the karstic action, the water goes up under pressure and forms a jet which expels, apart from water, sand and organic matters, and even large-sized rocks. At the same time, it produces a whistling sound or hissing, which gives the phenomenon its Asturian name
