Stand up close to the glass, take inall the slack rope and then keep a tight hold on the rope until thedanger point be passed. Do not attempt to collect fares with onehand and hold the rope with the other; the fares can wait until youhave passed the point of danger. Last month we published an editoral note on the freight trafficof urban and suburban electric railways which has caused Mr. J. , of the Bonner Rail Wagon of Toledo, to write us thefollowing interesting letter on that subject: We note with interest your editorial in current issue of the■Review, relative to the carrying of freight on trolley lines, andquotation from decision of Judge Marean of New York. In thefreight business perhaps no one has endeavored to give the subjectof this haulage, more consideration during the last three years thanourselves, and we feel assured, you have taken the only true posi-tion relative to its developemcnt on the trolley roads. Very many managers, as you know, are earnestly considering thequestion.
