He became the owner of over six hun-dred acres of land, much of which he cleared. He was a very largeman, a great hunter and fisherman, and at his death owned perhaps thebest farm and largest house in the township. The sons aided their fatherin clearing and improving the farm, while the daughters spun and wovethe flax and wool from which later they made the family he and his wife were members of the Presbyterian church. Ellen, married Thomas Brennan, he is now deceased: sheresides in Lewistown. 7. Emma, married William H. Mendenhall andresides in Avalon, Pennsylvania. (Ill) Johnson, eldest son of Abraham and Jemima fSigler) Muth-ersbaugh, was born in Decatur township, Mifflin county, Pennsylvania,December 7, 1844. He attended the public school and until August 30,1864, was employed at the home farm. On that date he enlisted inCompany K. Two Hundred and Fifth Regiment Pennsylvania Volun-teer Infantry, under Captain F. B. McClenaha
