The witness was then satisfied and departed. On the Monday following, the affairs of the newlymarried couple not having assumed the most flourishingaspect, the bridegroom was necessitated to resort to aneighbouring pawnbrokers shop, when, to the surprise ofthe party, the ring was declared to be worth nothing, itbeing a metal composition gilt. Upon this discovery hemade application to a Magistrate; the affair went beforethe Grand Jury, who found a true
