Hedge rode aSwift Safety^ and considering the fact that he did not start out tomake a century, and did not think of it until he had ridden aboutseventy miles, made very good time, his riding time being ten hoursand thirty minutes for 105 miles, or an average of ten miles an hours and five minutes were used in stops. This is the first timea century run has been made by a rider in this city on a Safety, andit is also the first time a century has been made over this route, therebeing a great many short steep hills to SWIFT.
