It con-sists of a shell of aluminum having oneend filled with lead, the purpose ofwhich is to cause it to fall always with itspoint to the earth. Two partitions arefitted within the shell, one immediatelyabove the lead and the other at the upperend, the latter being capped by a coverof special design. There is thus formed awatertight chamber into which the dis-patch is pushed.
