Six strands of palm leaf arecrossed over the bottom and drawn up on the sides, being held inplace by an elastic band. The sides are woven with split palm leaf,which is drawn together as closely as possible. The weaving isstarted by slipping a piece of the palm leaf under a warp strandwhere it is bent up to form the sides of the bottle, and then weaving, [77]. A STALACTITE. The neck of thebottle is finished by binding over and over with a piece of the splitstraw, and then tying a piece of ribbon around it.
