Tor Caldara tower, near Anzio

This lookout tower was constructed between the XVI and XIX centuries to protect the productyion of sulphur from the area. Originally called "Torred delle Caldane", it is now called "Tor Caldara", and gives its name to the protected Nature Reserve that surrounds it.
