It can also be used as a dock for boats, a platform to dive from or in some cases large piers may even have building providing food and or entertainment. Pier construction reached its hight in Victorian England with extravagant, large cast iron pleasure piers. Malmö is the third largest city in Sweden. Although an early industrialised city, since the construction of the Øresund Bridge, which connects Malmö with Denmark (Copenhagen), Malmö has become an important city for both IT and biotech industries.
