Aberystwyth, UK. 03rd Jan, 2014. Damage on Aberystwyth seafront. Strong winds and a spring tide caused waves to batter the west Wales coast. The promenade at Aberystwyth was closed to the public as waves tore over the sea wall, breaking sea defences and spreading debris over a wide area. Police and coastguards cordoned-off the north and south promenades at high tide, and a fire engine became stranded. Credit: Live News
