Government House on Broadway facing Bowling Green, New York City, United States of America. The Georgian style house, built in 1790, was to have been George Washington’s home, but as the capital moved to Philadelphia he never lived there and it became the residence of Governors George Clinton and John Jay. The mansion was demolished in 1815. After an print dated 1847 from a 1797 work by C. Milbourne.
