Maun is the capital of the Okavango Delta , a complex and extensive lake system formed by the waters of the Okavango River, which forms an inland delta in northern Botswana almost twenty thousand square kilometers. The city is located southeast of the delta outside the floodplain and the doors of the Kalahari Desert . Maun , Okavango considered the southern gate, is the fifth population of Botswana. It has 30,000 inhabitants and was founded in 1915 as the tribal capital tawana botawana ethnicity, a sub- tribe of the Tswana or grazing on the edge of the delta.
