Yesterday Water regulator Ofwat announced that Thames Water are to be put into Special Measures due to "significant issues". Thames Water customers are facing an increase of £99 or 23% in their bills over the next five years. Thames Water have been much criticised for their poor rate on sewage discharges, lack of infrastructure improvements and payments made to overseas shareholders.
