The beach at Hamble-le-Rice with the Oil Terminal Jetty in the distance
The oil terminal at Hamble-le-Rice began trading commercially in 1924 with the original jetty constructed in the 1920s. The jetty was extended in 1943 and again in the 1980s. Today's jetty is used to received oil products by ship, and the terminal has facilities to distribute by ship, pipeline and road tanker.
