A man in his 40's has died and a woman seriously injured after a crash between a car and the two closed Castle Lane East near Holdenhurst Village after fatal crash on Sunday night. Bournemouth, Dorset Sunday 13th December 2015 A couple out walking have been mowed down by a car in Bournemouth this evening. A man in his 40's has died and a woman seriously injured after a crash between a car and the two closed Castle Lane East near Holdenhurst Village after fatal crash on Sunday night. The incident, which involved a dark coloured Volvo, took place just past the traffic lights outside the Royal Bournemouth Hospital. A Dorset Police Spokesman said “Sadly a 49-year-old local man has died at the scene of the collision and a female was taken to the near by Royal Bournemouth Hospital she is being treated for serious injuries. “A 25 year man has been arrested for driving offences." The emergency services were called just after this evening. A road closed and scene tape has been thrown up between the hospital entrance and Cooper Dean roundabout. Specialist Collision scene investigators wearing paper suits are carrying out a finger tip search of the area The Road has been closed for over 8 hours whilst officers carry out the search. Police thanked the public for their patience during the road closure. Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision, or anyone who may have seen the Volvo or pedestrians prior to the crash to contact them on 101 ©UKNIP
