Federated States of Micronesia (Sept. 9, 2018) Construction Electrician 2nd Class Kurt Bettfreund, assigned to Underwater Construction Team (UCT) 2, grabs diving fins as he prepares to place explosive charges into a shallow shoal, which is a hazard to the safe navigation of ships using Chuuk cargo port, in the Federated States of Micronesia. UCT 2 is a key component of the Naval Construction Force, providing the capability to construct, inspect, repair, and maintain the full spectrum of maritime infrastructure.
