Swan-Mark, hand re-drawn on paper rather than vellum, depicting a shepherd’s crook. Possibly a mark of Abbot of Dereham. One of a series on a roll from Broadland. Norfolk. Upper bill mandible, neb at the top, knob at the bottom. Date not ascertained. This roll would have been referred to at the annual upping, usually in July, to mark the grown cygnets of the year.
