Lt. William Fox of the Signal Corps photographed the embarkation scenes at Newport News, VA on June 29, 1918. The image captures the 2nd Pioneer Regiment Infantry passing through the town on their way to the pier for their overseas deployment. The photograph was censored and released by the Censor on August 1, 1918.
