A 1939 printed photograph of the birthplace (1840) of composer Peter Tchaikovsky in Votkinsk, Russia. Educated as a civil servant Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky ( Пётр Ильи́ч Чайко́вский ) , 1840- 1893 was the first great Russian composer and was honored in 1884 by Tsar Alexander III who gave him a lifetime pension. Today the building houses the Tchaikovsky Museum containing his childhood toys, his piano and other relative objects
