Campo Vaccino (Foro Romano) 1848–52 Eugène Constant French Constant, who associated with the painter-photographers at the Caffè Greco, was the first in Rome to use the method of albumen on glass plate negatives devised by the Frenchman Niépce de Saint-Victor in 1847.
