Employees of the municipal street railwayshall ride free upon displaying their badge or pass sup-plied by the superintendent of public utilities. Sec. 7. Any passenger who has paid cash fare orschool childrens ticket shall, upon request, be furnishedwith a transfer to any intersecting line of any street. railway company now operating in the city limits, orthat may hereafter operate therein, which shall giveand receive transfers to and from all lines owned, con-trolled or operated by the city of Seattle, on a basis ofsettlement that the transfers are to be redeemed at therate of 2y2 cents for a full cash fare, or l1^ cents forschool childrens tickets. Such transfer shall be goodonly upon the first connecting car at the point of trans-fer and upon cars going in the same general direction. Sec. 8. The rate of fare charged on any lines oper-ated outside of the city limits shall be the same as thatcharged on the municipal street railway lines operatedin the city limits, and shall be in addition thereto. ESTIMATED EARNINGS AND EXPENSES OP OPERATION According to an estimate made by the public utilitiesdepartment there are 7825 people in the district di-rectly tributary to the line.
