The King's Garden was established by King Christian IV in the early 17th century as a pleasure and kitchen garden in Renaissance style close to the Rosenborg garden was opened to the public in the 1770s by Struensee. Today it is Copenhagen's most visited and popular park and is still an attractive playground and venue for entertainments and performances, not to mention the many picnics and birthday celebrations taking place there.
