Beautiful purple marine nudibranch, Flabellina affinis, from the Mediterranean Sea.
Commonly found in the Mediterranean Sea this nudibranch is a rather beauty of the underwater world. It's attractive coloration is a warning for predators that this species is poisonous. Flabellina affinis feed on Hydrozoa, small Cnidarians, which can be found on rocky and algae reefs. It can grow to a maximum size of 5 cm.
