In 1843 he moved to Girard, Pa., wherehe bought a farm and lived until 1856. Hethen moved back to his home in CrawfordCo. ; cleared up and improved the farm,built a new house and lived there until hisdeath which occurred Oct. 9, 1891, Parmelia Peet Barnes was born in Por-tage Co., N. Y., June 23, 1824. Her fathermoved with his family, with an ox team,from N. Y., into the unbroken forest ofCussewago Tp., Crawford Co., Pa., findinghis way to his destination by blazed trees.
