The temporal fovea is shallower, is encircledby a smaller area and is placed near theperiphery of the retina lower than the nasalfovea but about the same distance from theoptic papilla. This foveal region holds aboutthe same relative position in the fundus asthe single fovea of the Owl while the foveanasalis stands in the same relation as thatoccupied by the Blue-Bird and the Robin.
