John M. and Ann Kli/.a Swart Scribner. Hewas born in Middleburgh, this State, on October 4, 1839,and receiving his ])reparatory course in Franklin, N. Y.,entered Union College, and was graduated with the degreeof A. B. in the class of 1859. Immediately after finishinghis college course, he came to this city, read law in the officeof Hon. Hamilton W. Robinson, was admitted to the Bar in1861, and in 1863 became junior ])artner in the firm ofRobinson & Scribner, which continued until 1870, when was elected Judge of the Common Pleas Court,. and the business >vas continued by Mr Scribner 1876, the firm of Sanford & Robinson was uponthe election of thas. F. Sanford to the Superior Court IJeuch,and K. Randolph Robinson, his partner, invited to become associated with him. Ihis offer wasacce])ted and the firm name became Robinson i\: 1S82, Osborn P>. liright was admitted to partnership andthe business was continued until May ist, 1890, under liiefirm of Robinson, Scribner <!v Bright.
