A 1900 portrait of British Music Hall comedian Ernest Shand (born Ernest William Watson; 1868 – 1924) who was also a composer for the classical guitar, ( salon pieces, dances, variations, fantasias, songs, chamber music, piano pieces, transcriptions and pedagogical works) , recording many of his works. He was also a singer / songwriter and an actor. He was born in Hull, Yorkshire but travelled widely as far as Australia. An accomplished violin player, he was elected to the Senate of the London Guild of Violinists.
