Manila, Philippines. Jan 21, 2024: Painting in San Agustin Church & monastery in Intramuros, the walled oldest district. The Feast of Sto. Niño de Tondo (Lakbayaw) & Santo Niño de Pandacan is celebrated in the two Manila parishes every third Sunday of January. Today, devotees will bring their statues or images of the infant Jesus and join a procession in honor of Holy Child. The devotion, also a huge event in Cebu (Sinulog), had its origin more than 500 years ago when Magellan landed in the archipelago in 1519 and brought an image of the baby Jesus Christ.
