Sargodha missile garrison, Pakistan, Ikonos satellite image. The missile dump is towards the bottom. Sargodha has long been an important base for the Pakistani military. During the 20th century conflicts with India it contained Pakistan's largest airfield. In more recent years it has been used for the storage of Chinese M-11 missiles. These missiles can take a 500 kilogram payload up to 300 kilometres. It is believed that nuclear warheads have been developed for them. Indian military intelligence presumes that in times of crisis they will be moved fromt his base to locations around the country. Photographed on 14 November 2000.
