Town of Criccieth, Wales. The south-west tower and outer ward of Criccieth Castle in the foreground with the inner ward curtain wall in the background. The castle was originally constructed by Llywelyn the Great in the early 13th century. After capture by Edward 1 in the late 13th century, the castle was remodelled under the supervision of Master James of St Saint George.
