The British naval vessel, HMS Clyde, sails into Hout Bay to a rolling salvo of cannon fire as a salute to the historic maritime connections between the two countries. The HMS Clyde was refitted at Simonstown Naval Yard before returning to the Falkland Islands for duty. The cannon at the East Fort Battery on Chapman's Peak, Hout Bay, are preserved by the Hout Bay and LLandudno Heritage Trust and are of Swedish origin.
