Then, when more flowers were being used than ever, these persons offered the alibi that it was because of the high government wages that were being paid, and I am ready to admit that the florists got a share of these. But there arc no emergency wages now. Let a special flower day come along — and often a special day is not necessary—? and not enough flowers can be had to meet the demand, at prices not much changed from those of war times. At present not enough bedding plants can be had to meet the demand, because more greenhouse space has been devoted to cut flowers. Surely the trade has abundant ojiportunity.
