The gelatinous tex-ture, the expanded umbrella, the ovaries in the the umbrella, the four-lipped mouth placed at the end ofa free peduncle, and the quadripartite arrangement, are allMedusan characters. The tentacles in marginal groups arefound in Bougainvillcea, and their form,—knobs at the tipof long footstalks,—agrees more with Slabberia than withCorynaciis and Caryojdiyllia. * See my fig. of Campanularia. in Devonsh.
