Hull Tidal Surge Barrier, The gate is designed to provide flood protection to the City of Hull by excluding storm surge tides from entering the River Hull. It was built in 1980 by KGAL. The gate is 30 meters wide x meters deep, the gate when in motion will turn through 90 degrees and moved down to the river bed.
