The corporation has had a prosperous year. It purchased $1,000 of the first Liberty bond issue and applied for $1,000 of the second Liberty loan. The sum of $3,000 additional has been in- vested in the savings department of a prominent trust company. A regular dividend amounting to $2,416 had jjeen paid to the stockholders. 8. J. Goddard moved that a resolution of sympathy be sent to the family of George Cartwright, late treasurer of the corporation, who served for twenty- four years. This was adopted by a ris- ing vote. The following board of directors was elected: W. C. Stickel, Andrew Chris- tensen, Lester W. Mann, S. J. Goddard, A. S. Parker, Chester L. Paine, Herman H. Bartsch, Aubrey A. Pembroke and Charles E. Holbrow. Mr. Holbrow is a new member of the board. William W. Elliott was the only speech-maker of the evening and re- sponded felicitously for the Boston Cooperative Market. He remarked that the latter market made it a point to in- vite ladies to all its banquets, and that if the Flower Exchange had done so well for twenty-five years without ladies, what would it not accomplish in Worcester, Mass.
