Photograph of  The Holiday Inn, Ilfracombe, taken prior to 1975.  The lettering high on the right hand side says "Dancing". The lady in the foreground with her arm in the air has thrown a ball into the air and is waiting for it to come back down again. The building was erected in 1867 as "The Ilfracombe" and later had an indoor pool. The owners leased it to Bass Charrington in 1950 and they renamed it The Holiday Inn. At the end of the lease Bass relinquished the building and it was demolished in 1976.   The print is made from a scanned 6cm x 6cm black and white negative.
