The Cardinal Climber (Ipomoea Quamoclit Hybrida > We consider this the most beautiful, brilliant and distinct annual climber intro- duced in many years. Result of a cross between Ipomoea Quamoclit. the Cypress Vine and Ipomoea Coccinea. or Star Glory. It is a strong and rapid grower, attain- ing a height of 30 feet or more with beautiful, deeply laciniated foliage and literally covered with a blaze of circular fiery cardinal-red flowers from mid-July until frost. The flowers are about P^. inches in diameter, and are borne in clusters of seven to eleven blooms each. Like other Ipomoeas, it delights in a warm, sunny situation and good soil. The seed may be started indoors in April and planted out as soon as the weather is warm, or may be sown out of doors as soon as danger from cold weather is past.
