Marines PFC Steve H. Boggn and Cpl. Ron G. Horton, from First Battalion, Twelfth Marine Regiment, are seen decorating a real Christmas tree at Con Tien during the Vietnam War. Boggn's grandmother, Mrs. Marie Boggn of Sequ'a, Washington, surprised him with the tree, which stands in contrast to the artificial trees often sent to Marines in Vietnam.
