The egg has a thin shell, which isan indication of a simple, life short time after escaping in thefeces—the time varying accordingto temperature, moisture, and posi-tion in the feces—each egg devel-ops (figs. 17-27) a minute embryo, which is known as a rhabditiformembryo (tig. 27). This name is givento it because of its resemblance toworms of the genus Rhahditis. Characteristic for this stage is therhabditiform esophagus, which is entirely different from the esophagus.
