Soyuz 29 landing capsule. Close-up of the landing apparatus and command module of the Soyuz 29 spacecraft. Soyuz 29 was a 1978 manned Soviet space mission that carried Vladimir Kovalyonok and Aleksandr Ivanchenkov to the Salyut 6 space station. It was the fifth mission, the fourth successful docking, and the second long-duration crew for the orbiting station. The was mission launched on 15th June 1978 and returned to Earth on 3rd September 1978, establishing a new space-endurance record of 139 days.
