Sur., sh. 31, 1867. Harthill, a ruined castle in Oyne , Aberdeen-shire, on the nortliern sloj)e of Bennochie, 1 mile S ofOyne station. Built by Patrick Leith in 1638, it is amassive edifice, with walls 5 feet in thickness, roundtowers, bartizans, loopholes, and an arched gateway ;and, according to tradition, it was burned by the last ofits birds.
